Classmate Updates

E. Charles Bristol

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Retired - Manager of Corrections/Probation Department in Clark County Washington
Comment: Enjoy gardening, traveling and time with our two children and six grandchildren. Time camping has transitioned to a more comfortable tour stage indoors and catered, a factor of age. Fishing has given way to short hikes mostly on paved paths but always together with my loving wife, Sandy of 53 years, who I met in collage. She is a retired 30-year elementary teacher. Patient as a saint, who tamed me with example, not threat.

To see so many of you at the reunion was the best. Wish I had made it for Friday to see those who didn't come Saturday. I know I missed talking with many on Satruday.

okay! okay! I'm coming to the reunion.  Since leaving my life has been about blending...cultures, families, occupations...I spent 12 years in the other Washington where I taught school the first year of forced bussing (say no more). Moving back to WA state,  I started a private primary school in Bellingham.  Later,  to stir the proverbial pot, I returned  to WW and bought a 500 acre farm.  I am a viticulturalist and winemaker.  Ever an entrepreneur I feed the pomice (pressed wine grapes)to my cows, branded CABERNET COWS, and sell the m to high end restaurants.  To pay for my (aforementioned) bad habits I work in Real Estate where the market is still good.  I am a trustee for the school of business in real estate research at WSU, where I blend my sports allegiance.  And, yes , there's still a little DEVIL in me.

Danelle Christensen (Christensen)

Marital status: Single
Occupation: Retired
Comment: I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, after graduating from Brigham Young University in 1972.  After working in human resources and financial management for nearly 29 years, I retired in 2001.  It's been fun having my twin brother, Day, just 30 miles away as well as having extended family in the area.  I love being surrounded by beautiful mountains.  I can't believe it's been 50 years since leaving Walla Walla--enjoy the reunion!

Occupation: Secretary for Law Enforcement
Comment:

I have been living in the Portland/Vancouver area for about the past 25 years and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. For the past 14 years I have been working for a unit that investigates felony child sexual/physical abuse. Retirement is something that I have given no thought to at this time in my life, but when the time does come I hope to spend a lot of it at the Oregon coast.

I am sorry that I won’t be able to attend as it sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun. Enjoy.

Sandy Cook (Jeffs)

Marital status: Married
Children: 6
Occupation: Mother/Homemaker/Accounting Clerk
Comment: After living 21 years in Texas, my husband and I are now in the beautiful Wenatchee Valley.  Our children are scattered all over the country -- Utah, Texas, New Jersey, Georgia, and Alaska.  I work part-time when we are not off visiting children and (6) grandchildren.  We also enjoy our friends and church group.  Life is good!

I was wondering what became of a few folks I knew long ago at Wa Hi. Then realized some of you might be wondering about me. So, heres the short version. Moved to New York, became a creative director at big ad agencies like Ogilvy & Mather and McCann Erickson (worked on a lot of tech stuff - IBM, Microsoft, etc.). Commuted from a little country town called Garrison on the Hudson River, had two boys (now providing grandchildren and baby sitting opportunities). Retired early, turned a hobby into another career creating virtual products for virtual worlds (ala Ready Player One, if you’re interested see my catalog at https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/4117). Bought a cottage in Vermont on the shores of Lake Champlain, spend my summers there sailing and biking. The rest of the year we do lots of traveling and back to Garrison with my wife Kay.
